Following recent news that the Republican National Committee had destroyed scores of emails, possibly in violation of the Presidential Records Act, Chairman Henry A. Waxman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has sent a remarkably broad preservation notice to government agencies with instructions to hold and provide inventories of all emails accounts. Compliance with the preservation notice could prove exceedingly expensive and cumbersome.
