Turning the Screws on Government’s Apparent, Coerced Waiver Tactics

On January 29, 2007, the Congressional Research Service produced a 29-page report titled “The Thompson Memorandum: Attorneys’ Fees and Waiver of Corporate Attorney-Client and Work Product Protection.” The report includes a thorough summary of the law of attorney-client privilege and work product and provides general support behind “The Attorney-Client Privilege Protection Act of 2007,” S. 186, introduced by Senator Specter in January.
